The Secretary of State R. Kyle Ardoin swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for May 18 at 4 p.m.
The current interim Secretary of State is taking over for Tom Schedler, who is resigning after a female employee claimed she was sexually harassed for years.
Ardoin will be sworn in by Judge Yvette Alexander in the House Chamber of the Louisiana Old State Capitol.
According to the Secretary of State’s Office, Ardoin “will serve in the office until a special election can be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2018.”
The Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is located at 100 North Blvd.
