BRUSLY, La. (BRPROUD) – The Town of Brusly is getting a new place to walk, run and play.

It is called St. James Park and the size of the new park is 33,000 square-feet.

A groundbreaking ceremony happened on the corner of E Main St & S Kirkland St. earlier this week.

The Town of Brusly provided these renderings which give you an idea of what St. James Park is going to look like when it is complete.

So what can visitors expect when they arrive at St. James Park?

  • A main pavilion which includes a covered stage area
  • The town’s bike-share racks
  • Restrooms
  • Drinking fountains
  • A small pavilion surrounded by trees for gatherings
  • A designated area for food trucks

“What a big day!” said Mayor Scot Rhodes at the groundbreaking. “I am excited for the Town of Brusly.” In attendance were the planning committee, town and parish council members and employees, architecture firm Tipton Associates, and general contractor Kelly Construction Group.

The goal is have St. James Park ready for the public by February 2022.
