WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRPROUD) — FEMA will be granting $207,468,682.19 to the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness for Hurricane Ida relief, according to Senator Bill Cassidy.

Sen. Cassidy says the funds are reimbursement for costs related to emergency shelters after Ida’s landfall, which covers 5,097 travel trailers used to shelter 12,084 displaced residents.

“Louisiana’s resilience has shown in the recovery after Ida,” said Cassidy. “This funding is a large step towards positioning the state to fully recover.”
