Senator Milkovich, State Rep Hodges speak after heartbeat bill passes

Local News

Shortly after Senator John Milkovich’s heartbeat bill passed he, along with State Representative Valerie Hodge, held a news conference on the steps of the state capitol.

The senator and state representative both agreed that passing the abortion bill; which bans the procedure once a heartbeat is detected, marks this day as a “good day” for women in Louisiana.

Victims of rape and incest are not exempt from the bill.

“Children are formed in the image of God and children are our hope and children are our future and children are our destiny,” said Senator Milkovich.

A protest is expected to take place at the state capitol Thursday, May 30 at 10 AM.
