BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) will be administering monkeypox vaccines at a local bar on Thursday, Sept. 1.

Vaccine recipients will get one free shot when they receive a monkeypox vaccine at Cedarcrest Bar by Provo. Vaccines will be administered from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The bar is located at 10467 Airline Highway.

There are four healthcare locations administering the monkeypox vaccine in the capital city: AHF Pharmacy Baton Rouge (4890 Bluebonnet Boulevard), AIDS Healthcare Foundation (8281 Goodwood Boulevard), East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit (353 N. 12th Street), and Open Health Care Clinic (3801 North Boulevard). There are 162 monkeypox infections in the state, as of Aug. 26.
