PONCHATOULA, La. (BRPROUD) – Shots were fired near the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula on Saturday night.
The Ponchatoula Police Department says the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Hickory Street. The police precinct was struck twice and the awning was hit once. An innocent bystander’s car was also hit. Police say they found enough shell casings to believe there was more than one shooter.
No injuries were reported.
The festival is currently open.
