Since there have been no Covid-19 deaths in East Baton Rouge Parish for a couple of days in a row, many people are breathing a sigh of relief. But, it’s Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to Summer. And while many may be looking to get together, health experts like Dr. Ranni Whitfield, warn, we still need to be cautious.

“If you are sick, stay home,” Dr. Whitfield told us on Friday. “We can still FaceTime, call each other. But we’ve gotta stay the course. We’re doing pretty well, at least a plateau in the number of cases. We wanna continue to see that go down.”

Health experts say if you do have gatherings, keep the group small, continue to practice social distancing, and wash your hands often with soap and water.
