FORT KNOX, Ky. (BRPROUD) — The remains of a soldier from Baton Rouge who was killed during the Korean War and accounted for in February returns home on Wednesday, July 6.
Army Cpl. Lawrence L. Brown will be interred at Mount Gillion Baptist Church Cemetery on July 9, according to the U.S. Army Human Resources Command. Lawson & Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home in Gonzales will perform graveside services for Brown.
Brown died at 21 years old in a POW camp during the Korean War after he was captured after an attack in November of 1950. He was accounted for in February of 2022 by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency through DNA analysis.
