ORIGINAL:

Storms went through our viewing area on Thursday morning and left some area schools without power.

Ascension Parish Schools notified members of the community about power outages at some of their schools.

The message along with the schools without power can be found below:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Power is currently out at Dutchtown Primary, Dutchtown Middle, and Dutchtown High School campuses, which also impacts phones. We are planning for a normal school day with appropriate adjustments until power can be restored. Fortunately, breakfast was prepared before the power outage so there will be no interruptions to breakfast service for students.

We are in touch with Entergy and are hopeful power will be restored quickly after this line of storms passes.
