BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Southern University Law Center (SULC) is celebrating Native American Heritage Month in November with a virtual seminar on misreadings about Native American life before the Europeans came to America.

“Left Out: A Brief Survey of American Indian History” will be on Friday, Nov. 5 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Zoom. SULC Associate Professor Michael D.O. Rusco will host the virtual seminar.

“With this seminar, I’m hoping to pull the curtain back from the accomplishments of North American tribes in mathematics, astronomy, genetics, engineering, and forest management,” Rusco said.

SULC offers Indian law courses along with seminars and conferences.

The seminar is open to the public via Zoom; registration is required. Contact Professor Rusco for more information.
