The Special Olympics Louisiana and local law enforcement hosted their 9th annual Polar Plunge Saturday morning!
It took place at Cabela’s in Gonzales. More than 200 people were there to either “take the plunge” or just witness the freezing festivities.
The President and CEO of Special Olympics Louisiana Pat Carpenter Bourgeois said events like these help to include everyone
“They have also seen that they are going into school systems and talking to students without disabilities and asking them to come and be a part and learn more about people with intellectual disabilities. So we are becoming inclusive, diverse. We’re encouraging all of that, so that we can empower everyone in Louisiana really,” said Bourgeois.
The money raised from the plunge will support Special Olympics athletes.
