St. Francisville’s fire work show still on, city asking residents to socially distant during the display

ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (BR Proud News) – The 4th of July is usually a time for cook-outs, family and fireworks.

“Normally on the fourth of July, just our family will get together.”
“We’ll take the kids and go watch a firework show.”

This year, some plans have been altered because of Covid-19.

“This fourth of July, it won’t be a big family, it’ll be just a couple of us because you know what, this stuff is serious” said Delores Davis.

In Saint Francisville, the show will go on with a fireworks display in a park. The city is asking that people remain in their vehicles and if out, wear mask and socially distant yourself.

“Well that’s best, I think that’s best.”

“Oh definitely, there will be some bar-b-que involved and probably some swimming and maybe a fire work show” said Stephanie Stanford.

Some people say, they plan to get out and attend the show.

“It depends on the weather so don’t know yet.”

But for Ms. Delores Davis, although it’s good the city is giving some people that option, she says, she’s staying in.

“It’s nice, real nice but a lot of people and so you know with the pandemic we have now. I think sitting in the car will be better or mask up. But I am just the type that don’t like to be around a lot of people with the pandemic. It’s best to be safe than sorry.”
