GEISMAR, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a St. Gabriel man who is believed to be connected to a residential robbery that happened on April 26.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives responded to a burglary at a Geismar residence. When they arrived, the homeowner told them that about $60,000 worth of items had been stolen. Through an investigation, 20-year-old Freddie Miles was identified as a suspect.

With help from the St. Gabriel Police Department and the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed on his residence where items including jewelry, designer handbags, shoes, and more that had reportedly been stolen were allegedly found.

The sheriff’s office says Miles confessed that he committed the burglary. He was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. He is charged with theft over $25K, simple burglary, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespassing.
