St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting, suspect ‘at-large’

LUTCHER, La. (BRPROUD) — The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating a shooting suspect.

On Dec. 12, shortly before 4 p.m., St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at Birdie’s Convenience Store where a 17-year-old man was shot multiple times.

The victim was stabilized at St. James Hospital before being transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans, according to St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the victim is in critical condition.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 20-year-old Artrez Acevedo of Gramercy on charges of one count of attempted second-degree murder.
