St. John the Baptist Parish lifts all water boil advisories, curfew still in place

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – St. John the Baptist Parish has announced an update on Thursday, Sept. 23 on the water and sewage systems, power restorations and where FEMA mobile unit locations will be for the weekend.

All water boil advisories are now lifted including the one for Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy. All customers in St. John the Baptist Parish can resume normal water use.

The parish announced that. per Entergy, 325 customers are without power. Entergy asks for anyone still without power to report the outage by calling 1-(800)-ENTERGY.

A FEMA Mobile unit will be located at St. John Arc’s parking lot on Friday, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Sept. 26 but the schedule is tentative. FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance teams will be traveling the parish to assist with questions, registration and information on claims sent to FEMA.

Blue Roof registration is still open through this link. As of Thursday, 190 blue rooves have been installed.

St. John the Baptist residents need permits for structural repairs including framing or electrical fixings to a house.

Residents who require temporary housing should call (985)-359-0142 or (985)-359-0270. A form can also be filled out here.

For an elderly that need assistance, call (985)-536-4955. The line is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
