St. Vincent de Paul participates in "Giving Tuesday" for the homeless and families in need

Thanksgiving may be over, but the season of giving is just getting started.

On this Tuesday, St. Vincent de Paul has been collecting donations for families in need and the homeless.

"The blankets, the pillows, the sheets; we need all of those items to make this a home for people who have no where else to turn," said Michael Acaldo, CEO and President of St. Vincent de Paul Charities.

The non-profit organization is accepting all items from toothbrushes to toothpastes. Acaldo said the simplest items are necessary such as shampoo, soap, and bath towels.

After Tuesday's turnout, Acaldo said they will be accepting donations for the rest of the year. The building on 1623 Convention Street is open everyday until 6pm.

They are accepting all donations in front of the building.
