Louisiana State Troopers are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man from Hammond.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 1 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 55 near Interstate 12. Authorities said 23-year-old Dillon Majesty and 24-year-old Tyler Tullos were traveling in a Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Interstate 55.
As Majesty was driving, the vehicle ran off the roadway, entered the median and crashed into the back of a bulldozer. Tullos was unrestrained and pronounced dead at the scene.
Majesty was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. Authorities said a blood sample revealed Majesty had alcohol in his system. He was arrested on charges on DWI, vehicular homicide, careless operation and no driver’s license.
