SU board of supervisors upholds Haymer’s termination

Local News

Southern University’s board of supervisors voted to uphold the termination of former “Human Jukebox” band director Nathan Haymer Friday.

Haymer was abruptly fired in May 2018 for reasons not immediately made public.

Just two weeks ago, it was revealed that Haymer was terminated because he allegedly laundered nearly $300,000 worth of school funds into his personal checking accounts. Haymer petitioned to clear his name and get his job back following the release of that audit.

The former band director still denies any wrong doing and has recently been focusing his energy on creating a cooking segment on his YouTube channel.
