BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) — The Southern University Law Center’s Office of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives is partnering with East Baton Rouge City-Parish and Louisiana Department of Corrections to host an expungement intake event for residents.
During the event, EBR residents will have the opportunity to have their criminal records reviewed to determine their eligibility for expungement.
“Criminal records can impact the ability to get or maintain employment, find housing, establish credit, and much more. Expungements can be life-changing for the vast number of people who qualify,” said Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. “My administration is proud to partner with the Southern University Law Center and Louisiana Department of Corrections to give East Baton Rouge citizens a chance to explore new possibilities.”
Participants must bring:
- valid driver’s license
- background check from Louisiana State Police
- certified copy of minuets
- certified bill of information
The event will take place at the Greater King David Multicultural Center, located at 222 Blount Road, on August 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
