BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge police say the suspect accused of the shooting death of a 28-year-old was arrested Friday in Ponchatoula.

The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) identified the suspect as 44-year-old Carlton Lee. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Prison on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

BRPD said the motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.

On Wednesday, April 6, detectives began their investigation into the shooting death of Demerkus Wiltz at an apartment complex on Old Hammond Highway.
