Suspect in deadly shooting apprehended during traffic stop

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 39-year-old Lyndon Johnson, of Raceland, La. is behind bars after authorities arrested the shooting suspect..

The arrest was made after a traffic stop was initiated on Monday, April 12.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Johnson was wanted “for his involvement in the shooting death of Trikee Kelly that occurred on January 5, 2021 in the 2300 block of Jefferson Ave around 8:27pm.”

Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison facing these charges:

  • 1st Degree Murder
  • Attempt 1st Degree Murder
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon
