BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An 18-year-old is accused of slapping his autistic six-year-old brother in the face and getting into a fight with his stepfather.
According to arrest documents from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a domestic incident in the 1400 block of Locust Street on Thursday, Feb. 23. Deputies were told that the accused reported that his stepfather beat him up and his face was swollen.
According to the sheriff’s office, Caden Jenkins told deputies that the six-year-old bit him on his ear and he slapped the child in the face in response. Jenkins also told deputies his stepfather approached him about the incident and became violent. Jenkins accused the stepfather of holding him down and hitting him several times.
Arrest documents said that the stepfather tried to talk to Jenkins about slapping his stepbrother when Jenkins began trying to fight him. The stepfather told deputies that he had his arms out to create distance when Jenkins allegedly began to swing at him. The stepfather admitted to deputies that he grabbed Jenkins, they fell to the ground and he held Jenkins until he calmed down, according to the arrest document.
After witnesses told deputies about the situation, deputies determined that Jenkins was the alleged aggressor and arrested him. He was charged with simple battery and domestic abuse battery child endangerment.
