BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Two males, 20 and 15 years old, has been charged with first-degree murder by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the death of an 18-year-old girl who was killed back in May.
According to BRPD, Madison Brown, 18, was killed in the 9900 block of Florida Boulevard on May 18. Police say she was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle when an unknown suspect shot her in a 2015 Nissan Sentra. Brown died at the scene and two other people in the vehicle were injured.
According to official arrest documents, two other victims were interviewed by police and said that a black Ford F-150 blocked Brown’s vehicle while a white Nissan SUV drove to the passenger side and fired gunshots. Video footage of the incident was obtained the next day. BRPD learned that the Ford F-150 was stolen from Baker three days earlier. The white SUV was also reported stolen in Baton Rouge the day of the shooting.
The police say that Brown’s vehicle was followed down North Sherwood Forest Boulevard before shots were fired. After both stolen vehicles were found, the police learned that Brown’s death was bragged about on social media.
BRPD arrested Naquez Preston, 20, on Thursday and a 15-year-old male on Tuesday. They are both charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
