SCHRIEVER, La. (BRPROUD) — Police arrested a Thibodaux woman after she was accused of stealing more than half a million dollars from her employer.
The businesses owner contacted police in February after discovering discrepancies in several business accounts and said the amount of money in the account was much lower than it should have been.
Police say there were charges to company credit cards that were not related to the business including charges related to “personal vacations, paying vehicle notes, utility bills, buying jewelry and gambling.”
On Wednesday detectives arrested the Schriever-based businesses’ office manager, who had worked for companies since 2018 and managed the businesses’ accounts, for the theft of over $500,000.
The suspect was released from jail after posting a $120,000 bond.
