BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – On This Week in Louisiana Politics, Rep. Ted James was recently appointed to the U.S. Small Business Administration as the Regional 6 Director. James has been a lawmaker since 2011.

Gov. John Bel Edwards pardoned Homer Plessy on Wednesday, Jan. 5 in New Orleans after the Black man was arrested for refusing to leave a whites-only railroad car in 1892. His refusal led to the Supreme Court ruling that cemented “separate but equal” into U.S. law for half a century.
