IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Three men accused of illegally catching 133 fish on Oct. 22 were cited by agents.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) identified the three men as Van P. Nguyen, 54, of Denham Springs, Van V. Nghien, 50, of Baton Rouge, and Lu V. Do, 68, of Baton Rouge.

The men allegedly illegally used cast nets in the Work Canal near Ramah, according to LDWF. All three were cited after agents received a tip.

A total of three cast nets, 83 crappie, 18 black bass, and 32 bream were seized by LDWF agents. The agency said all fish were donated to charity.

LDWF said all three men could face a $400 to $950 fine, up to 120 days in jail, and possibly civil restitution totaling $581.21.
