Louisiana’s Democratic governor will share a stage Thursday with a Republican congressman who wants his job.
Gov. John Bel Edwards and Rep. Ralph Abraham will participate in a forum at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge. The event is part of an annual conference sponsored by the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana.
Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone, another Republican gubernatorial hopeful, will not attend due to a prior engagement.
Louisiana voters will choose between Edwards, Abraham and Rispone in an open primary Oct. 12. If no candidate secures more than 50 percent, the top two vote-getters will face off Nov. 16.
