TPSO asking for the public’s help finding two suspects

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding two individuals wanted on felony warrants.

The two people in question are from Hammond and they are Demond Butler, 39 and Tonya Matthew, 32. 

According to TPSO, the investigation started on April 13 when allegations “of forcible rape on a 16-year-old” girl surfaced.

TPSO said the first suspect, Demond Butler is “wanted on one count of forcible rape.”

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Tonya Matthew (aka Tonya Tillis) is “wanted for accessory after the fact of forcible rape.”

The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, local Law Enforcement and US Marshal’s are assisting the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office in this case. 

Authorities believe that Butler and Matthew fled from Louisiana to Washington.
