HAMMOND, La. (BRPROUD) — Detectives in Tangipahoa Parish continue their investigation into the death of 24-year-old James “Junior” Muse.

According to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), Muse was found outside of an unoccupied structure fire on Richardson Road on Jan. 24. Detectives determined Muse’s injuries to be unrelated to the fire.

TPSO said detectives have determined two suspect vehicles possibly involved in Muse’s death, both of which were reported stolen days before the murder. The vehicles are a 2010 GMC Acadia, which has since been found, and a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 Dual Wheel Truck described by authorities to be equipped with an external silver gas tank in the back, aftermarket fuel wheels, black running board with steps and tow mirrors on both sides.
