GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — Two American Kennel Club dog shows will be hosted at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in June.
The Baton Rouge Kennel Club and the Riverside West Kennel Club of New Orleans will host the Jambalaya Cluster Dog Show from Saturday, June 3 through Tuesday, June 6.
During that event, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Working Group Club will host a working dog event on June 3. It is open to 31 breeds, a news release said. Dogs in the working group are bred to assist humans, guard properties, hunt large game, and perform water rescue. The Onofrio Dog Shows of Oklahoma City will oversee the show, and the event will follow AKC rules.
The Northlake Kennel Club of Greater Covington will hold its Pelican Cluster All-Breed Dog Show from Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18 with judging starting at 8:30 a.m. each day. According to event organizers, about 700 entries will compete for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show trophies. It will be superintended by Onofrio Dog Shows.
Admission is free and open to the public.
