BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a fatal vehicle crash that happened on June 3 shortly after 3 p.m.
During the investigation, troopers revealed that the crash occurred when 50-year-old James Breaux and 33-year-old Daniel Thomas stopped on the right shoulder of I-10 westbound because of a flat tire. As they were changing the tire, 33-year-ild Jermaine Irvine was travelling westbound on I-10 in a Penske truck and struck Breaux and Thomas.
Breaux and Thomas were pronounced dead at the scene.
Irvine was properly restrained and was not injured. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for further analysis.
This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
