Two men arrested after a shooting in Donaldsonville

Two men are in jail as of Sunday afternoon after shooting in Donaldsonville. 
 
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Marcus Walker and 19-year-old Jarrad Jones were involved in a shooting near Oak Street and West Third Street Friday morning. 
 
Detectives learned Jones allegedly shot at Walker, then Walker got his gun and retaliated. Authorities said they both tried to get away when deputies pursued them, and Jones even shot at the deputies, but they were both eventually caught. 
 
Walker is booked in the Ascension Parish Jail on a $575,000 bond, while Jones is looking at a $878,500 bond. 
 
Walker is charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of weapons. Jones is charged with attempted second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder on a police officer and illegal use of weapons among others.
