ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – Two individuals were arrested after punching a juvenile in his front yard.
On July 21, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Opelousas area in regards to a “juvenile incident.” A witness told deputies that she saw a juvenile on the ground outside of her home being punched and stomped on by two individuals.
As the witness ran over to the juvenile’s home, the two individuals fled and threatened to “shoot up” the witness’s home and the juvenile’s home.
According to the sheriff’s office investigation, the juvenile was in his front yard when the suspects ran up and punched him.
The suspects, 20-year-old Josiah Rey Joseph and 18-year-old Damien Joseph Lastrapes, were booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with Cruelty to Juveniles.
Joseph’s bond was set at $3,500 and Lastrapes’ bond was set at $2,500.
