Two more EBR schools to switch to virtual learning starting Monday

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two more schools in the East Baton Rouge School System will be transitioning to remote learning starting Monday, Jan. 10.

EBR Schools said Villa Del Rey Elementary School and Broadmoor High School will be switching to remote learning temporarily. Students will return to in-person learning on Thursday, Jan. 13.

“The health and safety of our staff and students always come first, and we do not make these decisions lightly. Our thoughts are with those impacted, and we encourage all staff and students to do their part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19,” stated School Superintendent Sito Narcisse, Ed. D.  

On Thursday, EBR Schools announced Belaire High School, McKinely Senior High School and Buchanan Elementary School were to start remote learning on Friday, Jan. 7 until returning for in-person learning on Jan. 12.

The school system said it will continue to use mitigation efforts including mask-wearing, deep cleaning, frequent handwashing, testing and more.
