56-year-old Carl Lewis was arrested for his involvement in the death of his mother Thursday.
According to BRPD, Lewis was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with “Cruelty to the Infirmed.”

Two women were arrested Tuesday after being deemed responsible for the death of an elderly woman who died from bedsores and other conditions that could have been prevented.
36-year-old Chasity Evette Lewis and 22-year-old Carlnessa Butler were arrested for the murder of 77-year-old Barbara Lewis-Brown.
According to BRPD, autopsy results determined Brown died from a combination of Stage 4 bed sores, malnourishment and dehydration.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said, “Brown was transported to a local hospital where she died from the listed condition.”
Both suspects have been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on manslaughter and cruelty to the infirmed charges.
