USPS temporarily suspends mail delivery for certain LA code areas

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The United States Postal Service is temporarily stopping deliveries and mail at Post Office facilities in certain area codes due to the incoming hurricane.

The suspension begins on Saturday, August 28 at 6 p.m.

All retail and delivery operations for facilities in the following code areas will be stopped until further notice:

  • 700
  • 701
  • 704
  • 705
  • 706
  • 707
  • 708

USPS will restore service as soon as it is safe and will provide updates to keep everyone informed about mail delivery and retail operations.
