BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – USS KIDD Veterans Museum announced that the Ship’s Galley is set to re-open and return to the public tour route on Saturday, Sep. 4.
A galley is a shipboard kitchen.
“During her service KIDD’s galley was used to prepare three meals a day for over 300 Sailors,” according to an official press release. “Even though the space is smaller than a kitchen in most modern homes, many cooks worked together as a team to feed their crew.”
The museum is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is located on the Riverfront in Downtown Baton Rouge.
The museum will be open on Labor Day which is Monday, Sep. 6.
