BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Louisiana veterans affected by Hurricane Ida can apply for assistance through the Military Family Assistance Fund (MFA).

The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) says MFA can pay up to $10,000 for one claim per active-duty order in a 12-month period. Applications must be submitted to LDVA.

The LDVA cites that immediate family members of eligible veterans and activated military personnel can also qualify for MFA.

MFA qualifications include meeting a certain minimum active-duty service requirement and having been honorably discharged.
