Walmart to hold vaccination event for Wellness Day on Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) Walmart will host an immunization event in replace of the company’s quarterly Wellness Day on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at participating locations.

“As the country continues to make health and safety a top priority in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and with the anticipation of a busy flu season, Walmart is focused on providing accessible and affordable immunizations and vaccines for customers,” an official press release said.

Insurance isn’t needed to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, however, other vaccinations are covered under most insurance plans.

More than 4,700 pharmacies across the country are allowing customers to walk in to receive vaccinations, the press release said.

The following vaccinations will be available:

  • Flu shots
  • COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Affordable immunizations such as HPV, tetanus, measles, etc.

Customers can also receive wellness resources and have the chance to talk to pharmacists.
