BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Bishop Michael Duca held a press conference at the Catholic Life Center on South Acadian on Wednesday afternoon to discuss new mask protocols for daily and weekend worship services.

A portion of the Diocese of Baton Rouge’s statement reads:

“Specifically, masks are expected to be worn by everyone attending any indoor Church event including Mass, whether on Sunday or Weekdays, at all parish gathering held indoors in a church facility, and at all communal celebrations of the Sacraments.”

Duca says he understands both sides of the argument when it comes to mask-wearing but believes they do work and are needed during this COVID-19 surge.
