PORT ALLEN, La (BRPROUD) ––– The West Baton Rouge Museum is introducing a new exhibit dedicated to the work of Louisiana native Angela Gregory during this month’s Historical Happy Hour this Friday.

The Angela Gregory: Doyenne of Louisiana Sculpture exhibit features “a sampling of some of the sculptures of Angela Gregory, who was one of the first prominent women sculptors from Louisiana to gain international fame […] This exhibit is kind of an overview of her career,” said Executive Director of the West Baton Rouge Museum, Angelique Bergeron.

A grand reveal will take place during July’s Historical Happy Hour, where attendees will see Gregory’s work from Angela Gregory Legacy LLC., West Baton Rouge Historical Association’s permanent collection, and works on loan from other institutions.

The Gala event features tours, a reception, sculpture demonstration, and live music by The Michael Foster Project and a Baton Rouge-based brass band.

The gala is free and runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and is located at 845 N. Jefferson Avenue in Port Allen. For more information, visit the museum’s website or Facebook page.
