ST. FRANCISVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – Leave those hair trimmers alone because West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office (WPSO) won’t need them!

No-Shave November is a month-long cause where people grow out their hair and donate the money they would normally use to a charity or as WPSO will do, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge. The purpose of ‘No Shave November’ is to raise cancer awareness and raise money for cancer research and prevention.

WPSO is asking for participants to donate a minimum of fifty dollars, cash or check, to Bonnie Reames at the Courthouse. All proceeds are split 50/50 to both St. Jude and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.

WPSO’s rules are listed below.

  • Participation is from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30
  • Male employees can have either a beard or goatee that must be neatly trimmed
  • Female employees can have colorful fingernails, a colored hair stripe or both that is no longer than two inches
