BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – It’s not Buttered Pecan or Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream! Although they are popular, Blue Bell Creameries said those aren’t the flavors Louisiana residents reach for the most when getting ice cream out of the frozen section.
Blue Bell is the go-to for some Louisiana residents as the summer gets hotter and hotter. But what flavor does Louisiana love most?
“We can’t forget about our No. 1 best-selling ice cream, Homemade Vanilla. This flavor can stand on its own but also pairs well with a number of different toppings such as fresh Louisiana strawberries or even brownies and cobbler,”’ said Blue Bell Creameries. “Buttered Pecan or Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream are close runner-ups as well.”
Cookies ‘n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Great Divide and Cookie Two Step are other popular picks.
“For Louisiana and surrounding markets, we make a flavor called Bride’s Cake that has had a strong following from its initial release in 2017. It is a delicious flavor that captures the almond flavor found in a traditional wedding cake, many Blue Bell fans can’t get enough of it,” Blue Bell Creameries said.
During the summer, it climbs the rankings.
Louisiana gets into the festival season from December to March, and Mardi Gras King Cake climbs to the top. The sweet treat has a cinnamon cake flavor with pastry pieces, a green cream cheese swirl and festive candy sprinkles.
Blue Bell can be found in major supermarkets, some local ice cream parlors, restaurants and convenience stores.
