What will school look like in the fall? EBR schools explore possible options

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Local school districts are discussing what the fall semester will look like during the pandemic. Many parents and educators are wondering if face masks and health screenings will be required. They are also trying to determine how schools will practice social distancing in classrooms full of students.

In East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools, option one for parents includes dual courses, both online and traditional learning should reopening phases allow for it. The second option is to begin the new school year with virtual classes only.

Parents re encouraged to voice their opinions through an online survey.

In Ascension Parish Schools, there are educators have provided the protocols for Phases 1, 2, and 3 on their website as they prepare for the return of students on Aug. 5, 2020.

The information includes disinfecting school buildings and buses, installing water bottle fillers, preparing for modified food service, and administering daily temperature checks for students.
