Don’t have a ticket to the National Championship game in New Orleans, but you just want to go to the city, no problem! Join the thousands of fans tailgating around the city this weekend and Monday.
The countdown is on and both sides are ready for the biggest game of the year. Some people don’t plan on being inside of the Superdome and say they have other plans.
“[Ticket’s] are so expensive so we’ll watch it on tv [at Manning’s sports bar],” Brian Bell said.
The general manager at Manning’s says he expect the restaurant and sports bar to be back packed on Monday.
“You probably won’t be able to see the floor,” Damien Harvey said.
Harvey says they’ve prepared for a big crowd and welcomes everyone to stop by and watch the game.
“We have an outdoor patio with a large screen television,” Harvey said. “We also have upstairs first come, first serve seating.”
Another great spot where all tiger fans can watch the game is Bourbon St.
Bourbon St. is expected to be filled with thousands of fans and tourists during the weekend and on Monday. Joshua Mather, the area manager for Creole Cuisine, says he’s looking forward to the big crowds.
“[Bourbon] is the best street in the world, we’re going to have so much fun,” Mather said. “We got big screens to watch the game, two restaurants right in the middle of Bourbon St…. we’re open for all fans and we’re ready.”
Sophia Anagnostis says she’s from Florida, but when she found out LSU was going to be in the championship, she wanted to come to New Orleans. She couldn’t get a ticket, but says she wouldn’t let that stop her.
“We’re going to bounce around maybe in the quarters or something,” Anagnostis said.
All in all, tiger fans on both sides say whether they have tickets or not, they know they’re going to have a great time on Monday.
