BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA/WGMB) – We’ve been following the races and profiling the candidates.

Today, we’re providing a one stop shop for you to get all of the information you need on candidates from some of the big races.

First up, Governor.

GOVERNOR’S RACE

Democrat John Bel Edwards’ victory in deep red Louisiana four years ago won national intrigue. But it’s the state issues the incumbent governor hopes will spark a second term.

Eddie Rispone has been the CEO of Baton Rouge-based ISC Constructors for 30 years. But he says he’s ready of a new job — and prepared to give Louisianians new jobs, too.


STATE SENATE DISTRICT 16

The quest for Senate District 16 comes down to two: Republican state Rep. Franklin Foil, who says 12 years in the state House would ease his transition into the upper chamber; and Democrat Beverly Brooks Thompson, a fundraising consultant who claims the Louisiana State Capitol hungers for new voices.


STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 62

The race for the District 62 state representative seat is down to two candidates facing off in the Nov. 16 runoff. Voters have the choice to between incumbent, Independent, Roy Adams, and Republican, Johnny Arceneaux.


STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 67

When it comes to the prospective candidates of District 67 race, they both say they’re not going down without a fight. Leah Cullins is an assistant professor at Southern University and an HIV nurse practitioner. Larry Selders is the executive director of a mental health and substance abuse clinic. 


STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 70

Louisiana House District 70 runs from the LSU campus to South Baton Rouge. But the race between Democrat Belinda Davis and Republican Barbara Freiberg holds statewide weight.


STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 71

“I’ve lived by the philosophy all of my life, if you’re going to change things, then go change things.” Lori Callais is looking to do just that in Denhman Springs, hoping to go from the classroom to the State Capitol.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 88

Republicans Kathy Edmonston and Brandon Trosclair are facing each other for the Louisiana House of Representatives District 88 runoff race.
