BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – At the beginning of the year, a young man accused his mother of physically abusing his grandmother. Months later he says not much has changed, and her case has fallen through the crack.
Lenny Morgan and his grandmother’s former caregiver allege the elderly woman is being neglected by his mother, Lottie Morgan, and brother.
WVLA/WGMB passed by the home Wednesday, and no one appeared to be home.
Lottie Morgan was given probation after pleading guilty to cruelty to the infirmed, but neighbors say she sees her mother, 94-year-old Willie Mae, often. A former caregiver for the grandmother who asked to remain anonymous is now coming forward.
WVLA/WGMB reached out to Lottie Morgan’s attorney for comment but did not hear back.
“It’s chaos when Lottie comes [to Willie Mae’s home],” the caregiver said. “Under my better judgment, I wouldn’t have Willie Mae in there.”
She says she often found Ms. Willie Mae soaked in her urine and waste. She shared another image of a bedsore on the elderly woman’s bottom. Morgan says when he saw the photos, he was enraged.
“When my mother was a baby, my grandmother changed her pampers, wiped feces, wiped urine off her bottom, and now it just seems like now that my grandmother is up in age, my grandmothers 94, and she can’t even do that for her,” he said.
He says he only wants what’s best for his grandmother and is begging for the authorities to step in again.
