A Baton Rouge woman has been arrested after being accused of commiting battery against her Medicaid patient.

Flora Williams, 53, has been taken into custody on one count of Simple Battery of Persons with infirmities for allegedly kicking a disabled patient multiple times. Williams was investigated and has been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Attorney General Jeff Landry encourages the public to report similar allegations of abuse to his Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU).

“It is always disturbing to hear of Medicaid recipients allegedly being harmed by employees whose job is to care for them,” said General Landry. “As my office and I continue to fight Medicaid welfare fraud, we encourage the public to report abuse and neglect in residential care facilities.”

If you have information or evidence of Medicaid welfare fraud, abuse, and/or neglect in residential care facilities – report it to 888-799-6885 or on www.AGJeffLandry.com.
