Woman arrested for setting her apartment on fire

A Baton Rouge woman has been arrested after it is believed that she started a fire is several areas of her apartment this morning.

28-year old Tyesha Stewart was arrested and charged with aggravated arson. The fire was reported at 11641 Sherwood Hollow Court in Baton Rouge.

Fire crews noticed multiple points of origin in the apartment as well as burned and unburned matches spread around the apartment.

Upon reading Stewart her rights, investigators began to interview her, and she confessed to setting the fire in her apartment.

There were five others present in other building units at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
