BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The 10th annual Women’s Health Day and Retreat, organized by the Louisiana Center for Health Equity, took place at the State Capitol Thursday, May 12. The theme this year was Turning the Page for a Healthier Future for Women.
Beginning at 9 a.m., guests visited with exhibit attendees in the Rotunda. This area remained open until 2 p.m. and was free to the general public.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a luncheon symposium was held in the 4th floor Governor’s Press Room. The program included a panel discussion on women’s health through the generations and how the quality of life for women in Louisana has evolved.
Attendees were asked to show their support by wearing white attire with purple accessories.
Women’s Health Day and Retreat is held in conjunction with National Women’s Health Week, which runs May 8-14.
